Blob Hotel released 3 albums on cassette between 1988 and 1992...

BLOB COLLECT January 1988 The debut Blob Hotel album was a collection of side projects housed under one identity. From ramshackle blues to slick production, the album was originally given away free! The most spontanious of all of Mark Tingley's work and the first collaboration between Mark and Helen Smith. Click here to read and listen to Sick of Suburbia.

SCOWL October 1989 The first purpose built Blob album was a more ambitious affair. Experimental and more developed songs announced Nigel Marvin to the ranks. Click here to read and listen to "Smile"

LIFETIME IN A TEATIME February 1992 Released on leap day, the last album featured the live lineup. An attempt at "pure pop". 2 tracks produced by Sex Pistols producer Dave Goodman. Drums recorded in a garden shed! Click here to read and listen to "Laughing at the Boss".

SICK OF SUBURBIA February 1988 Shot in Sidcup, the video epitomised the sense of suburban frustration.

THIS OPTIMISM July 1988 The first track from the following year's "Scowl" album. Filmed on location in Abbey Wood, current home of Wilberforce.

KEY WEST May 1995 The last offering from Blob Hotel, filmed in Camber Sands, South-East England. Soon after, Wilberforce was conceived and 6 months later, work began on the first songs.....
