The first ever "Wilberforce" song.

During Autumn '96 I was required to make a personal project, a video short filmed and edited by myself for a TV / Video course. It seemed logical to use a half finished song called "College" and turn it into a pop promo. That way I'd have a track in the can for the forthcoming album!

Using an effects unit, the "lead guitar" riff in the intro was actually 2 pianos put through distortion. A step phased piano provided the weird sounds at the end. "College" was recorded in 4 days, followed by a week of filming around the campus.

Jack (right) was on the course too and I gave him the outline of the story, which he improvised. We had originally planned to throw a stuffed dummy off the rooftop, but the College wouldn't let us. They feared somebody miles away might ring up the emergency services!!! Once "College" was edited, we all had our personal projects premiered. A lot of the others loved it, and others hated me because they couldn't get "College" out of their heads!!! "College" was originally slated to appear on "Madame Fruitbowl" but because it had taken so long, it was eventually dropped for being too old !!!
