"I WISH I KNEW YOU WELL"

Premiered 31st December 2004
"I Wish I Knew You Well" was originally intended as an up-tempo number for "Madame Fruitbowl". Unfortunately we weren't very pleased with the results so replaced it with "Beautiful Love" where it remained sidelined, until now!
It was always one of my favourite songs, but when it came to playing live in 2003, we ended up slowing it down and giving it the torch treatment!! And that's what we've done here, just kept it simple and added some violins to fill out the sound.
It was originally written about a friend I met in America. She always sent me presents from abroad, hence the line "I wish you were in the same country". The title came out of a line in the Beatles song "I Want To Tell You".
This was rush-released in rough mix form in the dying hours of 2004 just so Wilberforce could claim to have produced something in a very quiet year for the band.
