Helen had just got a brand new keyboard and was showing me all the different sounds. Knowing my excitement she very kindly lent it to me for a week.
Except that the week turned into 2 years ! I became so involved with it, I ended up using it for the entire album !!
Inspired by Air and Lee "Scratch" Perry, "Theme" was created spontaniously out of that first session. It was the fastest recording of the entire project and one of the most fun to do, written and recorded in 3 days flat.

It marked a departure from my normal sound.
Much later I returned to add some subtle household appliance (!) with more handclaps and percussion to fill it out.
The title had been hanging around for as long as the band name itself. It seemed a good time to use it. But what seemed so perverse about TFW was one of the jolliest tunes I'd ever written had come out of a very dark period (see next track "I'm Crying").
