"DRINK" REVIEWS
|
Stayed at the pub too late, going back again tonight...
Quirky catchy offbeat roudy pub roustabout in truly original style, but something along the lines of Chubawumba meets Herman's Hermits on acid. Singer has loads of attitude and whine in a timbre perhaps described as the "New British Violent Femmes."
So much going on here production wise, with off beat rhythms, railroad hits, backgroud crowd noises, time signature changes, etc., that it can be quite distracting but damn good fun nonetheless!

Naked in the tub
I want to visit this pub. A goodtime fun song. one to raise a glass or five to. I think you can take care of this review. It makes me want to go have a drink. The pub is only steps away. Good song big fun thanks for this relief from the trash I have been reviewing.

Very cool
I am enjoying this song alot!
very original! the harmonies and sound reminds me good old bands I really like. all the breaks are great. it adds a lot of charecter to the song. I dig the special vocals on the back. that kind of things makes music for what it is... I am moving here...
good work

We get right in to it...
I hear a Beatles influence... Sounds experimental... This is very busy... Alot going on here... Sounds a little cluttered at times but it never loses focus on the bread & butter vocals... A very interesting piece with plenty to keep the listener's attention...
This sounds like a small piece to a much larger work that could be potentially filled with tasty morsels...

I like the artistic feel
A little beatlesque, I like the artistic feel, it was interesting yet to many emotional variations made it hard to follow. Keep a couple of the transitions the same to retain focus. Other wise a good art track.

Blur
this sounds like something blur would do. totally.
the lyrics are playful and man this just sounds more and more like blur every second the song goes on. to the british cockney accent and the trippy arrangement and use of talking about pubs and drinking.
the production was great and the risk of originality was cool. very diffent track, unless your familiar with blur. the mood was cool, if you are sad and depressed, listen to this, even though they want you to drink, if will lift you up or maybe get you out to the pub to get happy.
cool inspiring track, just a little tooooo blurish maybe.

Quirky tune
Quirky pop tune. Very sparse arrangement.
The band has asked for comments on:
1 Lyrics - Interesting in a Zappa sort of way.
2 Production - Effective in conveying the edginess of the tune.
3 Who Do We Sound Like? Can't really say that you guys sound like anyone I've ever heard. Quite original in my opinion.

Cheers!
Kudos on the effort to sound different! A very light hearted song, i.e. - no serious 'world or girl problems'- just the debauched joy of hanging in the pub and getting blasted. Sounds kind of like the Kinks in parts but the music breaks apart so often (not in a bad way at all - just non conforming)makes it not the Kinks style. Too happy to be Tom Waits. Kind of a funny song. I don't think it'll be a pop hit, but I don't think that's what they were after. I think they got what they were after; a little fun - a little sillyness.

Review
1. The vocalist got my attention right away. The lyrics are fun and the vocals are original and very well done.
2. This song has such originality and that goes a long long way with me. It's catchy and I like it!

5 Stars, gents.
I like it. It is very different; unique, original. It reminds me of the Rutles. The lyrics do a great job of painting a mental picture, which is complemented by the ambient crowd noises, etc.
There are so many dimensions to this song. It is all over the place, but I think the glue that holds it together is the singer's voice. It is the one constant; it makes me think of if i were tripping out on LSD and I had a good steady guide with me -- the whole world around me could be melting and confusing and surreal, but I could always come back to the guide as the common thread.
You know, guys, I'm giving you five stars on this song purely because it is incredibly creative and original, in a sea of pop drivel. Great job!

Huaaaa!
While it doesn't really sound directly like them, the overall jaunty feel and super specifically descriptive lyric reminds me of Preservation era Kinks.
This is a fun little tune that doesn't seem like a hit (there just aren't many top hits with audible vomitting) but it certainly keeps me interested in what's going to happen next.
I love the little production tricks. I must admit that I'd prefer to hear this with a full live band but the demo quality doesn't detract from the fun to be had here.

Pop that challenges the listener's ear
Very engaging and fun. Finally a song I've heard that fits under "Alternative Pop"
I love the inventiveness and strangeness of this song. A lot of interesting ideas permeate
this quirky recording. Wacky anvil percussion hits, audio verite conversations, and a great zany vocal performance that has a great melodic 60s quality but breaks into some truly Dr. Demento moments.
This is pop that challenges and stimulates your mind. One of the few songs that almost challenges you to listen, not easily accessible, nor an instant gratification track. But that's what I like about it.

A lot here.. a lot here
WOw
You have the kitchen sink in here...Lot's of ideas thrown all over,, reminds me of an old 10 cc style song...The lyrics are hard to track becuse of all the temp, volume and accent changes...There are some very cool inner rhymes. The production is WOW... Hard to keep up with.. you cover so much ground on this one.. It is obvious that you have some real skills here.. I would be curious as to what you wanted to accomplish... This comes off as a throw away just in fun piece from some very talented group but for me that is not enough to get me to listen or buy...
lots of fun .. cool ideas
see ya
