GUY TARRANT
Artist
Guy Tarrant has just enjoyed his biggest success with his latest exhibition, "God Save The Pupils", shown at the Dean Clough Gallery in Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK.
His ability to create amazingly accurate cartoon caricatures and constructing insightful sculptures, combined with a deadly sense of humour make him a towering talent to be reckoned with.
Guy first began drawing at an early age, inspired by his hero, Beano Cartoonist Roger Baxendale.
He moved from Dartford to Sidcup when he was 4, and met Mark Tingley at Burnt Oak Junior School when they were 7, beginning an association which has lasted to the present day.
On a diet of Farleys Rusks and Cakes, Guy stumbled into a brief stint as drummer for the Bash Street Kids. An alliance with Mark in the Hairy Penguins and Blob Hotel quickly followed.
But art was always going to be Guy's first love, and this led him to study at Sheffield University and become a College lecturer, culminating more recently in Sculpturing and Supply Teaching.
Having thought up the name "Madame Fruitbowl", Guy returned to cartoons once more to design the layout where he was given a list of songs to work from.

Guy also agreed to add the pub sounds on "Drink" with fellow Penguin David Cook.
The "God Save The Pupils" exhibition was a resounding success when it premiered in Greenwich, London, and was repeated to greater acclaim and national attention at the Dean Clough Gallery, Halifax, West Yorkshire (UK) as reflected in Guy's in-depth interview with the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
Guy has now launched a new web site, and you can contact him at Capricurrybeast@aol.com for further details.
