Phil joined Wilberforce for the Paxton gig at London's Gipsy Hill in February 2005. His precision and drive transformed the live sound of Wilberforce and provided a new dynamism and energy, finally putting an end to the "acoustic years" of the two-piece Mark and Helen live line-up. Phil's arrival brought to an end the long search for a drummer, heralding a new chapter for Wilberforce. However, he left the band by mutual consent in April 2006 having played an important role in the developement of the Wilberforce sound.

A new mystery drummer is now working on the new album, and an announcement will be made about Phil's replacement very soon!
